A second-year walk-on, Rod Bryant earned a letter last year after seeing action in five games. He came to MSU in 2006-07, but didn't join the Bulldog program until the fall of 2007.
2007-08:
Made five one-minute home appearances a year ago as a freshman walk-on guard for the Bulldogs... Connected on his first collegiate field-goal attempt and grabbed a defensive rebound against UT Martin in his second MSU outing... Also hit his lone shot attempt versus Southeastern Louisiana... Attempted a two-point field goal against Ole Miss in his only SEC action of the campaign.
HIGH SCHOOL:
Three-year letterman and two-year starter for coach Alvin Moore at George Washington Carver High School in Birmingham... Averaged 13.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game as a senior in helping lead the Rams to a 20-8 record and a third straight regional appearance in the Class 6A state playoffs... Earned honorable mention all-state honors during his senior campaign and was voted team captain... Posted the team's highest free throw percentage for the second straight season as a senior... Twice honored as a scholar athlete and owned the highest grade point average on the G.W. Carver team.

Roderick Bryant was born May 15, 1988, in Birmingham, Ala... Enrolled in MSU's College of Arts and Sciences... The son of Tommy Toney and Helen Bryant Toney... Has a set of brothers who are twins - Eric and Derrick Bryant.
