2014 JUNIOR SEASON: A starter at corner for the second straight year, starting in all 13 games … Ranked fourth on the team in tackles with 53 … Tied for the team lead and ranked eighth in the SEC in pass breakups with nine … Notched one interception and one forced fumble … Totaled five tackles and two pass breakups to go along with a career-high 1.5 tackles for loss in win over UAB (9/6) … Recorded a season-high eight tackles against No. 6 Texas A&M (10/3) … Tied a team high with six tackles to go along with a forced fumble against No. 2 Auburn (10/11) … Finished with five tackles and a pass breakup against Arkansas (11/1) … Intercepted a pass for the first time in 2014 in the end zone in the Egg Bowl at Ole Miss (11/29), while also finishing with four tackles and a pair of pass breakups.
2013 SOPHOMORE SEASON: Started 12 games at cornerback and also contributed on special teams … Ranked second in the SEC in interception return yards with 101 and 10th in the league in picks per game with 0.25 … Collected three interceptions on the year … Tabbed 45 total tackles with 33 of the solo variety and 1.5 tackles for loss … Tops in the SEC in interception return yards (101) in league only contests … Earned first career start against Oklahoma State (8/31) and notched six stops, all in the first three quarters … Scooped up Nickoe Whitley’s blocked field goal and returned it 68 yards to the OSU 10-yard line to end the first half ... Tallied a forced fumble and recovery on the same play against Alcorn State (9/7) … Did not play against Troy (9/21) … Recorded five tackles against LSU (10/5), including four solo hits … Registered six tackles against Bowling Green (10/12) and recorded first pass breakup of career … Intercepted first two passes of career against Alabama (11/16), picking off AJ McCarron in the second and fourth quarters … Returned fourth-quarter pick 53 yards to the Alabama 38-yard line … Became the first player to intercept a pair of Crimson Tide passes since Utah’s Robert Johnson on Jan. 2, 2009 … At Arkansas (11/23), picked off a pass for the second-straight game, recording the interception on the Razorbacks’ final play of the contest …Led the team with a career-high 11 tackles versus Ole Miss (11/28) … Recorded tackles on two of the Rebels’ four plays in overtime, helping MSU seal the Egg Bowl victory.
2012 REDSHIRT FRESHMAN SEASON: Saw action in all 13 games, mostly on special teams and as a reserve at corner … Totaled 24 tackles, 0.5 tackles for loss and a forced fumble … Made his collegiate debut with three solo tackles in the season-opening win versus Jackson State … Collected three more tackles in SEC debut against Auburn and road debut at Troy … Forced first fumble and made three tackles in the home win against South Alabama … Collected a year-high six tackles, including four solo, in homecoming triumph over Middle Tennessee … Registered two tackles, including 0.5 tackles for loss, against Texas A&M … Recorded two tackles at LSU and one in the regular-season finale against Ole Miss.
2011 TRUE FRESHMAN SEASON: Redshirted first season on campus after undergoing season-ending surgery on right shoulder in August.
HIGH SCHOOL: Named First-Team All-State by the Clarion-Ledger across all divisions … Listed among the Top 40 Most Wanted in the state by the Clarion-Ledger … A consensus all-state prospect in the 3A division following senior season … Selected by The Mississippi Association of Coaches to the 40-man roster for the Mississippi-Alabama All-Star Game … Played for head coach Miles Porter and led the Panthers to a 9-4 record, a 4-1 mark in Region 6 and the second round of the Class 3A state playoffs … Credited with 90 total tackles and intercepted six passes for 112 yards during senior season … Also blocked one punt and caused two fumbles … Rushed 31 times for 205 yards and scored three touchdowns … Played both ways during junior season … Helped lead the team to a 13-2 record for head coach David Parker and reached the south state finals of Class 3A where they lost to eventual state champions Tylertown … As a junior, rushed 23 times for 207 yards and three touchdowns … Also caught seven passes for 255 yards for three more touchdowns … Defensively, posted 42 tackles and intercepted three passes … Credited with 60 total tackles and a pair of interceptions with seven passes broken up as a sophomore … Committed to Mississippi State in January 2011.
