CAREER: Solid defensive tackle who spent five years with the program and was a starter as a senior … Played in 52 games with 16 starts … Collected 80 tackles, seven tackles for loss, four sacks and blocked two kicks … Graduated from MSU in December 2016 with a degree in human sciences.
2016 SENIOR SEASON: Started all 13 games at defensive tackle and won the St. Petersburg Bowl with his game-saving play in the final seconds … Finished with 25 tackles, 2.5 sacks and two pass breakups … Also blocked two kicks – a PAT against Samford and a 37-yard field goal attempt that would have won the game for Miami in the final seconds of the St. Pete Bowl … Busted through the line and got a hand on the kick with 0:05 remaining … Collected a season-high five tackles vs. Arkansas (11/19) … Tallied his first sack of the season at UMass to go along with two tackles (9/24) … Picked up four tackles and a quarterback hurry against South Carolina (9/10) … Also had a tackle for loss against Auburn (10/8) … Named to the 2016 SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll with over a 3.0 semester GPA.
2015 JUNIOR SEASON: Played in all 13 games with three starts … Starts came against Troy, Louisiana Tech and Kentucky … Accumulated 25 tackles, one tackle for loss, one pass breakup and recovered a fumble for a touchdown … Tallied three tackles in the season-opening victory at Southern Miss (9/5) ... Tied a career high with four tackles a week later vs. No. 14 LSU (9/12) … Made his first career start at defensive tackle in the Troy victory (10/10), recovering a fumble in the end zone for his first career touchdown and making three tackles with one tackle for loss … Touchdown came two minutes into the first quarter after it was forced by Brandon Bryant and put MSU up 14-0.
2014 SOPHOMORE SEASON: Appeared in all 13 games … Recorded 19 tackles on the season (six solo) with two tackles for loss … Also deflected one pass at the line and caused five quarterback hurries … Notched at least one tackle in 11 of the 13 games on the year … Tallied six multiple-tackle performances, vs. Southern Miss (8/30), at South Alabama (9/13), Auburn (10/11), at Kentucky (10/25), UT Martin (11/8) and at Alabama (11/15) … Recorded his first-career sack against Southern Miss for a loss of six yards … Recorded a sack for a loss of five yards and a one-yard tackle for loss at South Alabama in the game’s first 20 minutes … Provided two tackles and one pass breakup vs. Auburn in a battle of unbeatens … His final multiple-tackle performance of the season came at Alabama as he tackled Amari Cooper and T.J. 2013 REDSHIRT FRESHMAN SEASON: Made MSU debut and appeared in all 13 games ... Ended the campaign with 11 tackles (three solo) with 1.5 hits for lost yardage and one blocked kick ... Of 11 tackles, 10 came on rushing plays ... Booked more than one tackle in two games, against Troy (9/21) and versus Alabama (11/16) ...
