CAREER: MSU’s starting center for two straight years ... Played in 36 games with 25 starts … Began taking snaps at center during 2014 Orange Bowl practices after previously seeing most of his action at guard … Intention was to redshirt during initial year on campus in 2013, but was pulled up to the active roster prior to the Kentucky (10/24) contest … Invited to the 2017 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl following his senior season.
2016 SENIOR SEASON: Started all 13 games at center … Paved the way for a Bulldog rushing attack among the top five in school history … Anchor of an offensive line that allowed the second-fewest sacks in the SEC this season.
2015 JUNIOR SEASON: Started at center in all 12 of the games he played … Graded out the highest of all Bulldog linemen … Missed the Belk Bowl (12/30) after sustaining a sprained ankle in practice days before the game … Led the entire team in snaps played during the regular season with 848 … Highest snap total was 89 against LSU (9/12) … Played arguably his best game of the year against Kentucky (10/24), seeing time on 69 snaps and grading out over 90 percent with two knockdowns … MSU rushed for 204 yards in that contest, its highest total in an SEC game during the year.
2014 SOPHOMORE SEASON: Saw the field in four games on the year … Competed for time against a veteran offensive line group … Played in the opener against Southern Miss (8/30), in addition to games vs. Texas A&M (10/4), UT Martin (11/8) and Vanderbilt (11/22) … Helped MSU to the best offensive season in program history, shattering 15 single-season team records, including: total offense (6,679 yards), yards per play (6.7), yards per game (513.8), points per game (36.9) and first downs (334) ... Opened lanes for 29 rushing touchdowns this season, which tied for second in school history and two shy of the school record … Gave pocket protection for the Bulldogs to average a school record 280.7 passing yards per game … Provided time and space for 60 offensive touchdowns, the most in MSU history.
2013 TRUE FRESHMAN SEASON: Played in the final seven games of the season after being called up to the active roster ... Made collegiate debut in Thursday night contest versus Kentucky (10/24) ... Part of a line unit that helped Mississippi State to one of its best offensive seasons in program history, averaging 434.4 yards per game, which shattered the single-season record of 422.0 yards in 1982 … During debut game, created space for MSU to gain 447 yards of total offense against Kentucky (10/24) ...
