Right-handed hitting third-year sophomore middle infielder and lone New Yorker on the Bulldogs’ ?09 roster ? Positioned for playing time at both second base and shortstop ? SEC Academic Honor Roll selection.
2008:
Redshirt freshman middle infielder with playing time in 40 games ? Started six games at second base the first month of the season ? Replaced regular starter Russ Sneed at shortstop for the final 21 games when Sneed filled in for injured starter Connor Powers at third base ? Hit .239 for the year and .330 in his 27 starts ? Made his collegiate debut in the season-opener at North Florida (Feb. 22) ? Drew a start at second base in the series finale at UNF (Feb. 24) ? Singled up the middle and scored against UAB (Feb. 26) for his first collegiate hit and run in State’s ?08 home opener ? Collected his first career RBI with a double against Ole Miss (Mar. 14) ? Went 2-for-3 with a double and drove in a season-high three runs in a 6-4 MSU win at Alabama (Apr. 19) ? Also collected two hits in series-opener at Auburn (May 2) and registered season-best three-hit plate performances at LSU (May 9) and against Arkansas (May 16) ? Hit .302 in 22 games (16 starts) against SEC opponents ? Among 23 Bulldogs named to the 2008 SEC Baseball Academic Honor Roll.

Record-setting four-year standout and prep all-American at Beacon High School ? Coached by Bobby Atwell ? Two-time team MVP who established school career records for at-bats, hits, doubles and RBIs ? Compiled a .440 batting average with 11 doubles, six home runs and a school-season 54 RBI as a senior in 2006 ? Honorable mention Louisville Slugger All-American ? Posted a .963 fielding position as a shortstop/pitcher ? Also compiled a 4-3 record with a 2.63 ERA and 64 strikeouts over 48 innings of mound duty ? Accorded first-team all-state honors and tabbed the New York State Baseball Coaches Association Class A Player of the Year ? Four-year starter and three-time all-league, all-section and All-Dutchess County honoree ? Became his Beacon High School’s first baseball all-American when he was named to the second-team AFLAC All-America team in 2005 ? Hit .481 with eight doubles and paced the BHS Bulldogs with six home runs and 38 RBI ? Also notched a five-win, two-save pitching worksheet with a 2.35 ERA as a junior ? Helped lead his summer league team, the World Yacht Clippers, to the 2004 Triple Crown National Championship in Las Vegas, Nev., where as a shortstop he earned the Louisville Slugger Gold Glove Award.
