Four-year member of the Gulfport High School varsity baseball team ? Coached by Christian Ostrander ? 2008 Mississippi Association of Coaches all-state first baseman and Clarion-Ledger “Dandy Dozen” selection ? Hit a team-leading .440, tops among coast prep players, with a .996 fielding percentage in ?08 ? Piled up 42 RBI and lead GHS with 40 hits and seven home runs ? Totaled eight stolen bases in 10 attempts ? Also earned all-district and Biloxi Sun Herald All-South Mississippi honors ? Chosen by Collegiate Baseball as an Under Armour Pre-Season All-American ? Hit .301 with five home runs en route to all-district honors as a junior in 2007 ? Competed in the Sun Herald South Mississippi All-Star Classic and one of four Mississippi players selected to participate in the USA Baseball Tournament of Stars in Cary, N.C. ?
