Sat out his initial season at State and missed fall practice in both 2009 and 2010 with arm ailments.
JUNIOR COLLEGE:
Registered a 7-1 pitching record with three saves and a 4.83 earned run average at Blinn College in Brenham, Texas • Coached by Harvey McIntyre • Helped lead the Buccaneers to a 42-18 finish and an advancement to the semifinals of the Region 14 Baseball Tournament in May • Right-hander who appeared in 19 games, registering 77 strikeouts in 68 innings • One of three Buccaneers to ink with MSU • Spring 2009 MSU signee.
SAN DIEGO STATE:
Signed with San Diego State following his prep career • Posted a 2-0 record with an 8.31 earned run average in 14 relief appearances with coach Tony Gwynn's Aztecs in 2008.
HIGH SCHOOL:
Three-time all-district and two-time All-Central Texas performer under coach Jim Darleik at Austin's Westlake High School • Compiled a 23-7 career pitching record with a 2.36 earned run average and 207 strikeouts in three seasons • Capped his prep career with a 9-1 regular season record and a 2.18 ERA • Helped lead the WHS Chaparrals to the region semifinals, posting a 2-2 pitching mark in postseason play • Earned first-team all-state and Austin Area Coaches Association all-star team honors as a senior in 2007 • Also played first base, hitting at a .461 clip with 11 doubles, seven home runs, 27 RBI and an .820 slugging percentage in 20 games played in 2007 • Posted a 7-4 record with a 1.56 ERA and a .395 batting average en route to second-team all-state honors his junior campaign in 2006 • Also an academic all-district honoree in 2007.
