Greg Drye is in his 11th season with the Mississippi State baseball program, assisting with the implementation of State’s comprehensive in-season and offseason strength and conditioning program.
Drye also coordinates team travel arrangements and equipment purchases, directs the team’s video operations and oversees a wide range of additional tasks associated with the day-to-day operation of the Diamond Dawgs.
Prior to his arrival at MSU, Drye served as a graduate assistant at Delta State on the baseball staff of coach Mike Kinnison. Drye coached the outfielders on the DSU teams that captured the Gulf South Conference titles and advanced to the NCAA Division II South Regional in both 1999 and 2000.
Drye then returned to his roots, serving for three years as an assistant baseball coach at Long Beach (Miss.) High School.
The Long Beach, Miss., native previously served as an administrative assistant on the MSU baseball staff and as an instructor in the physical education department at Mississippi State. With baseball, he handled a wide array of duties and assisting with the team’s advancement to the championship of the 2005 SEC Tournament and the 2007 NCAA College World Series.
A graduate of Long Beach High School, Drye continued his baseball career at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, where he earned MJCAA all-state honors as an infielder playing for coach Cooper Farris. He later played baseball under coach Steve Smith at Baylor.
Drye earned his undergraduate degree in coaching and sports administration from Southern Miss, as well as a graduate degree in physical education, health and recreation at Delta State. He has a 10-year-old daughter, Dylan, and is married to the former Priscilla Giachelli of Blue Spring, Miss.
