June 25, 2026 | Baseball
STARKVILLE – Baseball America picked Mississippi State's Jacob Parker to its Freshman All-America first team on Thursday.
It's yet another accolade for the Bulldogs' rookie outfielder who has already been named Perfect Game's Freshman of the Year while also earning first team All-America honors from that outlet as well as the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. Parker was also a Freshman All-SEC selection.
The Purvis product clubbed a freshman record 18 home runs this year to go along with a .339 batting average and 62 RBIs. Parker appeared in 53 games and made 44 starts this spring. He finished second on the team in homers and RBIs as well as third in batting average and stolen bases (seven). He also added 10 doubles and one triple to his totals and was tabbed the Most Outstanding Player during the Starkville Regional.
Hunter Hines was the last MSU player to earn Freshman All-America honors from Baseball America in 2022.
The Diamond Dawgs have had 87 players tabbed as All-Americans a total of 180 times.
Parker is currently in Cary, North Carolina competing alongside Mississippi State teammates Jack Bauer, Ryan McPherson and Tomas Valincius as part of USA Baseball's National Collegiate Team Training Camp.
