Volleyball Adds Brooke Doherty

STARKVILLE – Head coach Julie Darty Dennis announced the addition of Brooke Doherty to the Mississippi State volleyball team on Tuesday.

"We are excited to have someone with experience and maturity join our program," Dennis said. "Brooke will bring great ball control, energy and poise to our gym. We are excited to welcome her to Starkvegas."

Doherty comes to Starkville from South Carolina, where she played in one season with the Gamecocks. She appeared in 19 sets across 10 matches, where she picked up 15 digs and three kills.

Prior to her time at South Carolina, Doherty spent her freshman campaign at Elon. During the 2022-23 season, she led all freshmen with 112 kills in 55 sets. She picked up a career high 22 kills against the College of Charleston.

Doherty, a senior outside hitter, joins the 2025 signing class as new additions to the roster this fall. Dennis inked a pair of outside hitters, Hailey Campagna and Lindsey Mangelson, on National Signing Day in November and added Bernardita Aguilar, an opposite hitter, in March. These four will join a Bulldog squad that returns 12 players from last year's team.

The Bulldogs are less than three months from kicking off their 2025 campaign. Earlier this month, the SEC announced the conference schedule, which will feature 16 SEC teams for the first time in conference history.
