STARKVILLE – The Mississippi State Bulldogs (12-1) will play their final game of 2025 on Sunday, as they are set to take on the visiting Samford Bulldogs inside Humphrey Coliseum. Tipoff for the contest is set for 2 p.m. on SECN+.

- Mississippi State enters their contest looking to extend their longest winning streak of the season to nine games after defeating La Salle 85-37.
- Five Bulldogs finished the game in double figures, marking the fifth time this season State has done such.
- State also had five Bulldogs score in double figures against Alabama State on December 17, making that back-to-back games with five in double figures. This marks the first time five Bulldogs have done such in consecutive games since 2019.
- Jaylah Lampley led the Bulldogs in scoring for the first time this season against La Salle as she scored a season-high 18 points off the bench. Lampley shot 8-12 from the floor and also collected six rebounds.
- Destiney McPhaul earned her first double double, as she stuffed the stat sheet with 16 points, 10 assists, six steals and six rebounds. She is the third Bulldog in the last 10 years to collect a point/assist double double.
- Favour Nwaedozi earned her sixth double double of the season with 13 points and 15 rebounds.
- Chandler Prater extended her double double streak to four games, as she collected 10 points and 10 rebounds.
- Under head coach Sam Purcell, State is 49-6 in regular season non-conference play.
- Inside Humphrey Coliseum, the Bulldogs are 30-1 in regular season non-conference play.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT – SAMFORD
- Samford enters the contest with a 6-9 record. Their last contest was a 49-65 loss to the UAB Blazers in Birmingham.
- Kaylee Yarbrough (12.9 ppg) and Briana Rivera (11.7) lead the Bulldogs as the only two players averaging in double figures.
- Samford is 2-7 in road games this season.
SERIES HISTORY:
- Mississippi State owns the series over Samford, as they have won both previous contests. Both victories came inside The Hump.
- The two teams last faced off on November 13, 2015, where State walked away with a 68-47 victory.
