Women’s Basketball Adds Ludovica Sammartino

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State women's basketball announced the addition of Ludovica Sammartino to the 2026-27 roster on Friday.
Sammartino, a 6-2 forward from Siscily, Italy, brings plenty of overseas experience to Starkville. She most recently played in the top Italian league, LBF Serie A1, for Sassari, while also earning time in the Eurocup. In Serie A1, action, Sammartino scored a season-best 14 points, knocking down three of her four three-point attempts.
Before making the jump to Serie A1, Sammartino played in Serie A2 for Akronos Moncalieri, where she averaged 14.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. In addition to Serie A experience, Sammartino has also earned time with the Italian National Team in U18 action and FIBA 3x3 action.
