Jemeli Set To Compete At NCAA Championships
November 21, 2025 | Cross Country
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mississippi State cross country runner Nelly Jemeli will compete in the NCAA Cross Country Championships Saturday morning.
Jemeli was State's sole qualifier for the race, earning an individual bid for the championships. She will be the first Bulldog to compete at the event since 2016.
Jemeli earned her qualification spot after her performance at the South Region Championships last weekend. She finished 10th overall and was the fourth fastest individual not competing for a team that earned a bid.
There will be 32 teams competing in the event, as well as individuals from 34 teams, including MSU. Teams earned qualifications spots by finishing in the top two in their respective region or by earning one of 14 at-large bids. Individual bids were awarded through an automatic and at-large selection, all of whom finished in the top 20 in their regions.
Jemeli's finish at regionals set a new 6k program record and earned All-Region Honors. She will line up alongside conference foes Alabama, Florida, LSU, Missouri, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M, as well as individuals from Arkansas and Oklahoma.
The race will be held at the Gans Creek Course, set to begin at 9:20 a.m. CT. The race will be available to stream on ESPNU.
