Bulldogs Fall to Austin Peay

STARKVILLE - Coming into the first midweek games of the season, the Mississippi State Bulldogs could not get the bats going as they were limited to four hits over the first game of a two-game set with Austin Peay State University. The Dawgs were defeated by a score of 3-2.
Bryce Chance and Ross Highfill led the team in RBIs with one a piece, both coming in the sixth inning. Four different Bulldogs recorded a hit in the contest.
Evan Siary drew the start for the Bulldogs and was charged with the loss after two innings of work. He struck out four. Brooks Auger, Cole Cheatham, and Cam Schuelke combined to throw 4 2/3 of scoreless work out of the pen. The trio struck out six and limited Austin Peay to two hits.
The Dawgs and the Governors will return to action on Wednesday at 4 p.m. from Dudy Noble Field. The game will be broadcasted on SECN+. Next Tuesday, the Dawgs will host Jackson State in midweek action, with the first pitch at 3 p.m.
