Bulldogs Conclude Action At Joe Walker Invite

OXFORD – Mississippi State's track and field program wrapped up the final day of competition at the 2023 Joe Walker Invitational on Saturday in Oxford, Mississippi.
Mississippi State claimed three of the top five spots in the men's 400m hurdles, led by Alfonso Hale Jr. who clocked a personal-best time of 52.24 to finish in second place. Christion Barker was close behind in third place with his personal-best time of 52.65, while Samuel Smith ran a season-best time of 53.59 to finish in fifth place.
On the women's side, Jessicka Woods clocked a new personal-best time of 1:01.21 in the 400m hurdles to finish the event in fourth place. Ramat Abike also claimed one of the top finishes of the day for the Bulldogs in the women's 800m run with her time of 2:11.27 to place fifth.
MSU returns to action on April 12-14 when the Bulldogs travel to the west coast to compete in the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, California. Members of the team will also compete in Florida's Tom Jones Invite on April 14-15 in Gainesville, Florida. A full schedule and heat sheets will be available later this week.
