Bulldogs Fall At Missouri

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Mississippi State volleyball team fell to Missouri in straight sets on Friday night.
The Bulldog move to 11-11 on the year and 4-8 in SEC play, while Missouri improves to 14-9 overall and 6-6 in league contest.
Missouri took the first set 25-15, then followed with a 25-18 win the second to take the 2-0 match lead. The Tigers closed out the match with a 25-18 victory in the final frame.
Amina Shackelford led the offensive attack for State on the night, finishing with 11 kills on a .310 hitting clip. Shackelford also collected two digs and a block. Sophie Agee followed with nine kills of her own, while adding two digs and an ace. Karli Schmidt came away with five kills and two digs.
Fifth year setter Emily Oerther dished out 21 assists, eight digs, one block and one kill in the three-setter.
Libero Lauren Myrick paced the backcourt defense with 10 digs, while providing three assists.
Behind the service line, Mary Neal and Sanaa Williams recorded one ace in the match.
Mississippi State will head to Fayetteville, Arkansas to take on No. 8 Arkansas on Sunday. First serve in Barnhill Arena is set for 3 p.m. CT on SEC Network+.
