Bulldogs Drop To Georgia On Sunday

ATHENS, Ga. – The Mississippi State volleyball team dropped a three-set contest [28-26, 25-13, 25-18] to Georgia on Sunday afternoon in Stegeman Coliseum.
MSU moves to 11-10 overall and 4-7 in conference play, while UGA improves to 14-8 overall and 5-5 in league play.
Sophie Agee posted a team-high for the fourth consecutive match with 10 kills. Amina Shackelford followed right behind Agee with nine kills on a .389 hitting clip and led the team with four blocks. Shackelford also added four digs and an ace on the afternoon.
Outside hitter Karli Schmidt came away with seven kills and a block, while Zoe Gonzales provided three blocks and a kill. Sanaa Williams also tallied three blocks of her own.
States's setters Erin Kline and Emily Oerther combined for 22 assists and nine digs in the match. Oerther issued a team-best 18 assists and four digs, while Kline registered four assists and five digs.
Libero Lauren Myrick paced the backcourt defense with 11 digs during the match, while also issuing four assists. Defensive specialist Mary Neal came away with five digs and one assists.
Mississippi State will hit the road to face Missouri in Columbia, Missouri, on Friday, Nov. 3 at 6:30 p.m. CT and will then travel to Fayetteville, Arkansas, to take on No. 10 Arkansas at 3 p.m.
