Bulldogs Host No. 23 Arkansas For A Pair Of Matches

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State's volleyball team caps a busy stretch of three matches in five days when the Bulldogs host a pair of matches against No. 23 Arkansas over the weekend at the Newell-Grissom Building.
First serve on Saturday is set for 11 a.m. CT and will be aired on SEC Network+. Sunday's match will begin at 1:30 p.m. and will be televised on ESPNU. Both matches will be available through live stats on StatBroadcast.
Due to Saturday's football game, parking for the volleyball match will be available in paid parking grass lots around campus.
"For Arkansas, I think it's going to be about who can last longer," head coach Julie Darty Dennis said. "Who can outlast those long rallies, make the play, and just put the ball in the box for longer. I think it will be a close battle of back-and-forth volleyball. It's going to be a fun match to be a part of."
Mississippi State ranks among the SEC's top five in digs per set (15.37 – 2nd), assists per set (12.89 – 3rd) and kills per set (13.72 – 4th). The Bulldogs have connected for a .255 hitting percentage, which is ranked eighth in the SEC standings.
Gabby Coulter has dished out 9.83 assists per set on the season, which ranks sixth among SEC setters. Coulter has captured a team-leading seven double-doubles on the year, with her latest coming against Auburn with 34 assists and 11 digs.
Gabby Waden has powered home a team-leading 3.63 kills per set on a .322 hitting percentage. She has totaled 10-plus kills in 11 of her last 12 outings. Waden has produced two double-doubles on the year, recording 12 kills and 14 digs against Milwaukee (08/26) and 12 kills and 12 digs against South Alabama (09/10).
Lauren Myrick has belted 3.17 kills per set to go along with 2.09 digs and 0.22 aces per set. Myrick has collected three double-doubles this year and posted a season-high 18 kills against Ball State (09/03).
Deja Robinson has tucked away a team-leading 1.10 blocks per set, while recording 1.55 kills per set. Robinson has complied a .392 hitting percentage, which ranks third in the SEC rankings.
Shania Cromartie has registered 2.60 kills per set to go along with 1.86 digs and 0.36 aces per set, while Sania Petties has chipped in 1.75 kills and 0.58 blocks per set. Rebecca Walk has registered 1.87 kills and 0.70 blocks per set in the nine matches she has appeared in this season.
Lilly Gunter has sprawled out 10-plus digs in 11 of her 12 starts and has recorded 181 digs on the season. Gunter's 3.93 digs per set rank seventh among SEC liberos.
