August 29, 2022 | Volleyball
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Mississippi State's Sania Petties and Gabby Coulter collected a pair of SEC weekly honors following the Bulldogs' sweeps over Milwaukee and Notre Dame this past weekend.Â
Petties earned Co-Offensive Player of the Week accolades, while Coulter picked up this week's SEC Setter of the Week honor. For Petties, it marks the first weekly honor of her career.Â
"I am really excited to see Sania [Petties] earn this honor," head coach Julie Darty Dennis said. "We are asking our middles to get way more involved offensively and that makes a ton of work. Sania is working super hard to get up and available for us and she had an incredible match against Notre Dame. She is helping our team be more balanced offensively and she did an incredible job executing this weekend."
Coulter is the only MSU player in program history to earn an SEC Setter of the Week accolade from the conference office, and her second time to earn the Setter of the Week honor.Â
"I am excited to see [Gabby] Coulter earn Setter of the Week honor after an outstanding opening weekend performance," said Dennis. "We are asking her to step up and do a lot and it is great to see that she is willing to lead and take on such a bigger role this season. I am extremely proud of her confidence, composure and competitiveness when she is out there running the show for us."
