Bulldogs Prepare for SEC Outdoor Championships

OXFORD – For the second time in five weeks, the Dawgs are heading north – this time for the SEC Outdoor Championships. The first outdoor, postseason meet for the Mississippi State track and field program will be held Thursday, May 12, through Saturday, May 14, at the Ole Miss Track and Field Complex.

The Bulldogs enter Oxford with five different event squads ranked in the top-13 nationally:
Thursday, May 12: Live Stream | Live Broadcast (SEC Network+ for both)
Francesca Chambers and Daniel Pepper will compete in the women's (12 p.m. CT) and men's (2:15 p.m. CT) hammer throw.
Shayla Broughton and Asia Poe (2:20 p.m. CT) will both compete in the women's heptathlon, with the first of four events being the 100-meter hurdles, followed by high jump and shot put. Their last event for the day (5:50 p.m. CT) will be the 200 meters. The duo will knock out the remaining three events (long jump, javelin, 800m) on Friday.
Caroline Standley (6:30 p.m. CT) will compete in the women's javelin. At the same time but on the track, Zoe Brito, Hayley Ogle and Sydney Steely will all compete in the women's 800-meter prelims. The top finisher from each of the four heats, plus the next five-best times, will all advance to Saturday's final.
Navasky Anderson, Leon Clarke, Omari Hammond, Daniel Joyce and Tyrese Reid (6:50 p.m. CT) will all compete in the men's 800-meter prelims. The top finisher from each of the five heats, plus the next four-best times, will all advance to Saturday's final.
Rosealee Cooper (7:10 p.m. CT) will compete in the women's 200-meter prelims. The top finisher from each of the five heats, plus the next four-best times, will all advance to Saturday's final.
Jordan Barrow, Sema'J Daniels, Keldrick Edwards, Okheme Moore and Shamar Rose (7:35 p.m. CT) will all compete in the men's 200-meter prelims. The top finisher from each of the five heats, plus the next four-best times, will all advance to Saturday's final.
Danielle Brissett and Cathrina Morris (8 p.m. CT) will both compete in the women's 400-meter-hurdles prelims. The top three finishers from both heats, plus the next three-best times, will all advance to Saturday's final.
JavU's Franck DiSanza, DJ Jónsson and Trent Zelden (8 p.m. CT) will all throw Thursday night.
Gabriel Moronta and Samuel Smith (8:20 p.m. CT) will both compete in the men's 400-meter-hurdles prelims. The top two finishers from each of the three heats, plus the next three-best times, will all advance to Saturday's final.

Broughton and Poe will begin MSU's second day. The duo will wrap up the heptathlon in the long jump (2:35 p.m. CT), javelin (3:45 p.m. CT) and 800m (4:45 p.m. CT).
Cameron Crump and Safir Scott (4:30 p.m. CT) will both compete in the men's long jump.
Cooper will compete in the women's 100-meter-hurdles. The top three finishers of each of the three heats, plus the next three-best times will all advance to Saturday's final.
Jhordyn Stallworth (6 p.m. CT) will compete in the women's shot put.
Broughton, Kennedy Jackson, Poe and Aley Woodberry (7:05 p.m. CT) will all compete in the women's long jump.
Dalton Dempsey, Edwards, Lee Eppie and Safir Scott (7:45 p.m. CT) will all compete in the men's 400-meter prelims. The top finisher of each of the five heats, plus the next four-best times will all advance to Saturday's final.
Jabari Bennett and Jeremiah Pierce (8 p.m. CT) will both compete in the men's shot put.
Barrow, Crump, Daniels, Moore and Rose (8:35 p.m. CT) will all compete in the men's 100-meter prelims. The top finishers of each of the four heats, plus the next five-best times, will all advance to Saturday's final.

Stallworth (12:30 p.m. CT) will compete in the women's discus.
Poe (2:30 p.m. CT) will compete in the women's triple jump.
Cade Finley, Pepper and Pierce (2:45 p.m. CT) will all compete in the men's discus.
Emma Hunt, Maddy Kish and Peyton Mickelson (5 p.m. CT) will all compete in the women's pole vault.
Keshun Byrd (5:45 p.m. CT) will compete in the men's triple jump.
*All remaining events on Saturday will be relays, plus the finals of Thursday's and Friday's prelims.
