Walk Named To SEC Community Service Team
November 30, 2022 | Volleyball
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southeastern Conference office announced that Mississippi State volleyball junior Rebecca Walk was named to the 2022 SEC Community Service Team on Wednesday.
"We are very proud of Rebecca for earning this recognition from the SEC," head coach Julie Darty Dennis said. "Rebecca is a servant leader and always makes time to serve others. She has a heart for others and loves to get out in the community and help where she can. I am proud of Rebecca for always making time for community service; student-athletes are busy and have rigorous schedules but she always finds a way to give back and serve. Congrats to Becca!" Â
The SEC sponsors Community Service Teams for all 21 league sponsored sports. The Community Service Team looks to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to their community in superior efforts. This marks the 20th annual women's volleyball Community Service Team.
Walk has earned this honor back-to-back years and has been involved in numerous community service projects. She has worked with the Salvation Army Red Kettle, Partnership Middle School drop off and Dawg Duty. Walk also participated in lunch with a Bulldog where she had lunch with elementary school students.
She has represented volleyball at a MSU soccer match where she handed out candy to kids who showed up to trick-or-treat. Walk also represents volleyball on the Student-athlete Advisory Counsel and is on the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Leadership team.
