Bulldogs Host Missouri In Final Two Matches

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State volleyball is set to host the Missouri Tigers in the final two regular-season matches inside the Newell-Grissom Building on Nov. 25-26.Â

First serve on Friday is set for 6 p.m. CT, while Saturday's match will begin at 3 p.m. Both matches will be aired on SEC Network+ and will be available through live stats on StatBroadcast.Â

The Bulldogs and Tigers have met 17 times, with State having won the last three matches against Missouri.Â

"This is an exciting series," head coach Julie Darty Dennis said. "We are looking forward to another opportunity to compete as we close out the 2022 regular season. I am so proud of this team for the way they never stop fighting. We hope to pack the Griss as we need all of our family and fans to help us battle a very good Missouri team."Â

Friday's promotion will include Maroon Friday giveaways, while on Saturday the Bulldogs will celebrate senior night. MSU has seven seniors that will be celebrated throughout the weekend. The seniors include Gabby Waden, Deja Robinson, Lacey Jeffcoat, Gabby Coulter, Burgundy Walters, Katie Culumovic and volleyball manager Courtney Clevenger.Â

"We are so excited and thankful to be at home to honor our seniors this weekend," Dennis said. "I hope that our Hail State FaMily all has a Happy Thanksgiving. I hope everyone comes out for some Hail State volleyball and wants to come see us at The Griss as we celebrate and honor our seniors as we thank them for their amazing contributions in the Maroon and White."Â

Waden has belted a team-leading 3.73 kills per set on a .288 hitting percentage. She has totaled 10-plus kills during 24 of her last 26 outings. Waden has produced four double-doubles on the season, her latest coming against then No. 19 Kentucky (11/11) with 16 kills and 13 digs.

Lauren Myrick has powered home 2.52 kills per set to go along with 2.30 digs and 0.20 aces per set. Myrick has collected eight double-doubles on the season. Her latest double-double came at Tennessee (11/20) with 10 kills and 11 digs.Â

Shania Cromartie has registered 2.73 kills and 2.14 digs per set. Her 2.73 kills are ranked third on the squad behind Waden and Myrick. Cromartie has cranked out nine double-doubles, with her latest coming at Tennessee (11/20) with 13 kills and 11 digs.Â

Sania Petties has chipped in 1.68 kills and 0.64 blocks per set, while compiling a .303 attacking percentage. Robinson has tucked away 0.94 blocks per set, while recording 1.49 kills per set. Robinson has also registered a .291 hitting percentage.

Coulter has distributed 8.84 assist per set on the season, which ranks ninth among SEC setters. She has garnered a team-leading fifteen double-doubles this year, her latest coming at Tennessee (11/20) with 43 assists and 14 digs.

Lilly Gunter has sprawled out 10-plus digs in 22 of her 26 starts while wearing the libero jersey. Her 4.23 digs per set rank third among SEC liberos and first on the MSU squad.
