Bulldogs Head To Baton Rouge For A Pair Of Matches

BATON ROUGE, La. – The Mississippi State volleyball team heads to Baton Rouge for a pair of matches against LSU on Saturday and Sunday at Pete Maravich Assembly Center.Â

First serve on Saturday is set for 6 p.m. CT, while Sunday's match will be begin at 1 p.m. Both matches will be aired on SECN+ and live stats will be available through StatBroadcast.Â

The Bulldogs and Tigers have met 75 times, with MSU having won the last two matches against LSU.

"We are looking forward to the trip to Baton Rouge and the opportunity to compete," head coach Julie Darty Dennis said. "This team is excited to get on the court and we know that we are capable of playing great volleyball. LSU is a tough team playing really well right now and we know we are going to have to bring our best if we want to have success at the PMAC this weekend. I trust my team will come ready and we are looking forward to two big SEC matches. Hail State!"

Mississippi State ranks among the SEC's top five in digs per set (15.14 – 1st), assists per set (12.38 – 5th) and kills per set (13.30 – 5th).Â

Gabby Waden has belted a team-leading 3.54 kills per set on a .301 hitting percentage. She has totaled 10-plus kills during 18 of her last 20 outings. Waden has produced two double-doubles on the season, recording 12 kills and 14 digs against Milwaukee (08/26) and 12 kills and 12 digs against South Alabama (09/10).

Lauren Myrick has powered home 2.78 kills per set to go along with 2.17 digs and 0.22 aces per set. Myrick has collected six double-doubles on the season. Her latest double-doubles came at Texas A&M (10/07) with 10 kills and 12 digs.Â

Outside hitter Shania Cromartie has registered 2.81 kills and 2.21 digs per set. Her 2.57 kills are ranked third on the squad behind Waden and Myrick. Cromartie has cranked out seven double-doubles, with her latest coming against Ole Miss (10/26) with 13 kills and 12 digs.Â

Sania Petties has chipped in 1.60 kills and 0.62 blocks per set, while compiling a .316 attacking percentage. Deja Robinson has tucked away a team-leading 1.00 blocks per set, while recording 1.53 kills per set. Robinson has also registered a .336 hitting percentage.

Setter Gabby Coulter has distributed 9.22 assist per set on the season, which ranks ninth among SEC setters. She has garnered eleven double-doubles this year, with her two latest coming at South Carolina on Oct. 19 with 28 assists and 13 digs.Â

Lilly Gunter has sprawled out 10-plus digs in 17 of her 20 starts while wearing the libero jersey. Her 3.78 digs per set rank seventh among SEC liberos and first on the MSU squad.Â
