State Concludes Regular Season

TUSCALOOSA, Ala.Ā āĀ The Mississippi State cross country program concluded its regular season Friday morning at the Crimson Classic.

The race featured nine Bulldogs and for the first time this season, MSU ran an extended 5.85K course.

"Overall, [it was a] good effort [today]," head track and field coach Chris Woods said. "It was good to get the experience of running a 6K before we head into the conference meet at the end of this month. Now we have to turn our sights and efforts to the SEC Championship meet."

Madison Jones was the first State runner to cross the line, clocking 21:21.2 for a top-35 finish. MSU team captain Mary Beth Woodward followed behind at 22:13.1. Savannah McIntosh (22:22.2) and Hayley Ogle (22:51.1) each finished on Woodward's tail, rounding out the top four finishers for the Maroon and White.

Finishing off the morning were MSU's Gracie Gibson (22:32.7), Hunter Anderson (22:38.3), Zoe Brito (23:10.2) and Grace Ritchie (23:46.6).

State would end up finishing 12th in the team standings.

Mississippi State will take a two-week break before traveling to Oxford (Friday, Oct. 28) for the SEC Championship.
