Diamond Dawgs Travel To Face Samford In Fall Scrimmage

First pitch is slated for 1 p.m. on Saturday in Birmingham

STARKVILLE – The defending National Champions will hit the road for the first of two fall scrimmages as Mississippi State travels to take on Samford on Saturday, Oct. 2 at Joe Lee Griffin Field in Birmingham.

First pitch between the two teams is slated for 1 p.m. on Saturday. Price of admission is set at $10 for the contest.

NCAA rules allow for schools to play two games against outside competition during the fall. The Diamond Dawgs also will host Alabama on Friday, Oct. 15.

State will also play a three-game Fall World Series, beginning on Thursday, Oct. 7. Game two of the series will be played on Friday, Oct. 8, before the Bulldogs wrap up with the third and final game on Monday, Oct. 11.
