Volleyball Announces Updated Match Day Information for Spring Schedule
January 25, 2021 | Volleyball
STARKVILLE – Mississippi State volleyball announced Monday (Jan. 25) the updated capacity restrictions and safety guidelines in place for its eight home matches this spring at the Newell-Grissom Building. State resumes its season with a two-match home series against Georgia, Friday and Saturday, January 29-30.
Â
For the safety of fans, student-athletes and team staff, capacity at The Griss will be limited to 10 percent. Marked spaced seating will be available in socially distanced groups of four, and all spectators are required to must wear a face covering over their nose and mouth at all times unless actively eating or drinking.
Â
MSU volleyball matches will continue to be free for all fans, and no tickets are needed for entry. However, entry to matches will be allowed on a first-come, first-serve basis, and the maximum capacity cap will be strictly enforced. Guests should enter through the north entrance of the Newell-Grissom Building only.
Â
In addition, all guests, employees and game workers will conduct a Self-Screening prior to leaving home. Per MSU Guidelines, this should include an "at-home" temperature check, and review of potential COVID-19 symptoms including cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, muscle pain, sore throat, and a new loss of taste or smell. If anyone has any of these symptoms or a fever of greater than 100.4 degrees, the person should stay at home.Â
Â
Enhanced cleaning and sanitation procedures are occurring throughout the venue prior to and during all matches and ample hand sanitizing stations and increased directional signage will be in place to help encourage physical distancing.
