Mississippi State Volleyball Adds Ninth Newcomer in Lauren Myrick

STARKVILLE – The number of newcomers to the 2020 Mississippi State volleyball team increased to nine on Monday (July 6) with the addition of sophomore transfer Lauren Myrick.
Myrick, an outside and right-side hitter who spent her freshman season at Lipscomb, is the fourth transfer student-athlete to join the squad for the upcoming fall slate. The program also adds five talented freshmen into the mix.
"We are excited to welcome Lauren to the family," MSU head volleyball coach Julie Darty Dennis said. "She has played for three highly respected volleyball programs since the start of her prep career."
The Louisville, Kentucky, native tallied 177 kills and 84 digs in 91 sets over 29 matches during her rookie season in Nashville. Prior to her college career, Myrick helped lead Assumption High School to back-to-back USA Today National Championships while earning No. 1 rankings from MaxPreps and PrepVolleyball.com.
"Lauren is a competitor," Darty said. "She is driven, she is tough and she is a great volleyball player. Her experience at a variety of positions will add depth and confidence to our team immediately. Having someone with her versatility in Starkville is huge, and we are just so excited for her arrival."
Myrick will be immediately eligible to compete this fall.
