
MSU Men’s Tennis To Close Fall At Volunteer Showdown In Knoxville

STARKVILLE – The end is near for 2020 fall tennis as the Mississippi State men's tennis team prepares for a hop across the state line for matchups at the Volunteer Showdown in Knoxville, Tennessee, this weekend (Nov. 6-8). The event will be held on the University of Tennessee campus with matches being played both indoors (Goodfriend Tennis Center) and outdoors (Barksdale Stadium).
The Bulldogs will be joined in the round robin competition this weekend by players from Middle Tennessee State as well as fellow SEC foes South Carolina and Tennessee.
The weekend will kick off with the Bulldogs matching up with players from host Tennessee on Friday at 8 a.m. CT. On Saturday, the Bulldogs and Blue Raiders will highlight the afternoon session at 1 p.m. CT. Sunday's play will conclude with Mississippi State and South Carolina at 8 a.m. CT. Live stats and live video provided by UT will be available throughout the weekend.
Florian Broska, Alberto Colas, Nemanja Malesevic, Nicolas Ocana, Gregor Ramskogler, Stedman Strickland and Davide Tortora will represent the Maroon and White on the courts once again this weekend. Tortora leads the team this fall with a 6-1 singles record. Ocana is close behind with a 4-2 mark. Broska and Ocana are a team-best 4-3 in doubles.
Next Up For MSU…
After this weekend's tournament the Bulldogs will conclude fall action and set their eyes on Spring action in 2021.
