Bulldogs Return To Action At FSU Invite

STARKVILLE – The Mississippi State cross country team travels to Tallahassee, Florida to run in the FSU Invite on Friday morning.
"This will probably be our most competitive meet this season, other than our conference meet," distance coach Pat McGregor said. "We will be racing both ACC and SEC teams. I just want our girls to be aggressive, compete and trust in their current fitness."
The meet will be held at Apalachee Regional Park, Florida State's home course, with the women's 5K set to begin at 7:10 a.m. CT. MSU is one of 10 teams in the women's race that features four SEC foes in Alabama, Auburn, Florida and Georgia. Five ACC opponents – Boston College, Clemson, host Florida State, Georgia Tech and Miami – join the Bulldogs in Tallahassee. Earlier this month, State kicked off the 2020 cross country season with a fourth-place finish at the SEC Preview in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Five Bulldogs set personal bests in the season opener including Sylvia Russell, who was MSU's highest finisher. Russell covered the 5K race in 17:28.6.
Silvia De La Pena Garibay and Stephanie Peterson will make their 2020 debuts on Friday.
