
No. 23 MSU Heads To Sunshine State To Take On USF, Miami

STARKVILLE – After a dominating performance against No. 22 Oklahoma to conclude the 2020 ITA Kickoff Weekend, the No. 23 Mississippi State men's tennis team is set for its second road test of the year, traveling to Tampa, Florida, to take on South Florida on Friday and then Fort Myers, Florida, on Sunday to take on Miami.
The Bulldogs (5-2) will face the Bulls (4-1) at 12:30 p.m. CT Friday afternoon. After the match against USF, the Bulldogs will travel to Fort Myers to take on the Hurricanes (4-1) at 9:30 a.m. CT Sunday morning

MSU In The Oracle ITA Rankings…
The Bulldogs are currently ranked 23rd nationally as a team. In the ITA national singles rankings, two-time All-American senior Giovanni Oradini leads the Bulldogs at No. 15 in the country. True freshman Davide Tortora leads the next generation of Bulldogs at No. 101.
State's Florian Broska made a strong push to be ranked in the next release of the individual rankings, which will be published next week. The junior ousted two Top 50 foes during the ITA Kickoff Weekend to claim SEC Player of the Week honors on Wednesday. Broska is 14-2 in singles since mid-October.
Know The Foe: South Florida/Miami
USF enters Friday's match with a 4-1 record after suffering their first loss of the season last week at No. 2 Florida in the ITA Kickoff Weekend. The Bulls downed Fresno State in the tournament opener the day before. Chase Ferguson leads the team, ranked 121st nationally in singles.
Miami will enter Sunday's match with a 4-1 record after defeating Tulane last weekend in the ITA Kickoff consolation match in Palo Alto, Calif. The Hurricanes' lone loss of the season came to No. 13 Cal the day before. UM's Adria Soriano Barrera is ranked 63rd in the country in singles.
MSU downed Miami (4-1) and USF (6-1) in consecutive matches in Starkville last February.
