
Men's Tennis Announces Signing of Diego Duran

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State men's tennis head coach Matt Roberts announced the signing of Diego Duran on Thursday.
A native of San Salvador, El Salvador, Diego comes to Starkville by way of the University of West Florida. While at West Florida, Duran cemented himself as one of the best Division II players in the country, earning Division II All-American Honors in both singles and doubles. Duran closed out the season ranked second in the nation in the ITA Division II singles rankings. Posting a career singles record of 64-16 and doubles record of 65-22, Duran brings winning experience to the Bulldogs. Diego was also named the 2026 Gulf South Conference Player of the Year.
Prior to West Florida, Duran attended CMA Academy in Indiana for high school. Diego earned a top 300 world tennis ranking as a junior in high school at CMA Academy. Duran also brings national experience to the team, having represented El Salvador for the National Team.
Duran joins a Mississippi State program that continues to compete as one of the nation's elite college tennis programs. Under Coach Matt Roberts, the Bulldogs have reached consecutive NCAA Quarterfinals and continue to experience success in the SEC and on the national stage.
