Bulldogs to Battle Belmont in Preseason Test

NASHVILLE – With less than a week before first serve in Starkville, the Mississippi State volleyball team takes the road to face Belmont in an exhibition match on Sunday, August 24.
The Bulldogs and Bruins will face off at 3 p.m. CT Sunday at the Curb Event Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
"We are excited for the opportunity to compete," MSU head coach Julie Darty said. "It has been a productive preseason, with lots of growth and teaching, and we are looking forward to applying it on the court."
Results of the match will be published following the conclusion of play.
Sunday's match comes as MSU's lone tune-up before beginning the 2019 campaign. State will open up regular season play Friday, August 30, when it hosts Chattanooga to open up the four-team StarkVegas Classic.
In 2019, MSU looks to continue to build under second-year head coach Julie Darty. Belmont comes off of a 5-23 2018 campaign in which all five victories came against Ohio Valley Conference opponents.
Darty's squad returns 64 percent of its kills from 2018 and its three top attackers in Amarrah Cooks (251), Paige Shaw (248) and Deja Robinson (203).
