Mississippi State and Ole Miss open a three-game series in Oxford on Friday, May 10, series finale to air on ESPN2 at Noon on Sunday, May 12

STARKVILLE – The final road trip of the regular season takes the No. 5 Mississippi State baseball program just up the road to Oxford for a three-game series with No. 11 Ole Miss. The two teams will kick the weekend slate off on Friday (May 10) at Oxford-University Stadium/Swayze Field.

Game times for this weekend are 6:30 on Friday (May 10), 6 p.m. on Saturday (May 11) and Noon on Sunday (May 12). All three games will be available via the Mississippi State Radio Network, while the first two games will also air on SEC Network+. The series finale will air on ESPN2 with Clay Matvick and Chris Burke on the call.

The Diamond Dawgs will face their 10th ranked opponent of the season in the Rebels, with Friday's contest marking the 22nd game – and 11th in the last 12 contests – against a program ranked in the Baseball America Top 25. Overall, State is 11-10 in games against the top 25 opponents in 2019.

The series has been tightly contested over the last six years, with each team winning nine of the 18 games played in SEC play. Overall in the last 25 meetings, State is 15-10 against Ole Miss, winning six of seven Governor's Cup games since 2013.

- Mississippi State and Ole Miss will meet for the 470th time on Friday to open the weekend's three-game series in Oxford, with Mississippi State owning a 259-206-4 edge on the all-time ledger.
- The first meeting came between the two programs in 1893, with Mississippi State winning a 6-3 contest in Starkville.
- Mississippi State has the longest winning streak in the series at 14 games (1932-37).
- Ole Miss' longest winning streak has been nine games, claiming those games between 1972-73.
- Along with playing an SEC series each season, the two programs have competed in an in-season, non-conference game each year beginning in 1980. Originally Mayor's Cup (1980-2006), the two teams now compete for the Governor's Cup in Pearl, Mississippi.
- Overall, Mississippi State owns the edge in neutral site series, 22-18, with the Bulldogs winning each of the last four meetings, including an 8-1 decision earlier this season.
