No. 10 Men’s Tennis’ Match At South Carolina Suspended; Faces No. 9 Florida Sunday

STARKVILLE – No. 10 Mississippi State men's tennis will have to wait a bit longer to resume its match at No. 29 South Carolina, as persistent rains through the night led to wet courts Saturday morning, forcing the match to be suspended until Monday at Noon CT at the Carolina Tennis Center.
Before returning to the Palmetto State to complete that match, MSU (10-2, 2-0 SEC) travels south to Gainesville, Florida, for a top-10 battle at ninth-ranked Florida (8-2, 2-0) on Sunday. First serve is set for Noon CT at the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex, the site of the 2019 SEC Men's Tennis Championship.
MSU In The Oracle ITA Rankings …
The Bulldogs are currently ranked 10th nationally, marking the 17th straight edition of the rankings in which MSU has appeared in the top 25 and its 13th appearance in a row in the top 10. In the ITA national singles rankings, two-time All-American Nuno Borges leads three State players at No. 3 in the nation, while Giovanni Oradini comes in at 102nd nationally. State boasts a pair of ranked doubles tandems in third-ranked Braun and Giovanni Oradini and No. 7 Borges and Strahinja Rakic.
Know The Foe: Florida
Florida enters Sunday's match coming off a 6-1 win against Ole Miss in Gainesville Friday night. The Gators field four ranked singles players, including No. 24 Oliver Crawford, 48th-ranked freshman Sam Riffice, No. 54 Andy Andrade and No. 79 Johannes Ingildsen.
In doubles, four UF tandems are ranked inside the ITA's top 80. Brian Berdusco and Ingildsen are ranked ninth nationally, while Andrade and Crawford team up to form the nation's 14th-ranked duo. Andrade and Riffice are ranked 27th, while McClain Kessler and Duarte Vale are ranked No. 73 and play at the No. 1 position for the Gators.

MSU's match at South Carolina was suspended midway through singles play Friday with the Bulldogs holding a 1-0 lead after taking a tightly-contested doubles point. USC got a quick advantage with a win on court 1 before the Bulldogs notched the first point of the match for the fifth straight match and the 23rd time in 24 outings. State held a set advantage on courts 4 and 5 while the Gamecocks were up a set on courts 1 and 2, with the other two courts in late deadlocks in the first set.
