Mississippi State looks to extend winning streak against Grambling in final tune-up before SEC play
STARKVILLE – The Mississippi State baseball program has moved into the top five in four of the six major polls and will put its 11-game winning streak on the line when it hosts Grambling on Wednesday (March 13) at Dudy Noble Field. The Bulldogs and Tigers will get underway at 5 p.m.

The Bulldogs (15-1) are off to the best start to a season since the 2013 team won 17-straight to being the year and will look to enter Southeastern Conference play with the 11th longest winning streak in program history. The Diamond Dawgs have won seven-straight midweek contests, going 5-0 in 2019 and winning the last two midweek games of 2018.

On Monday, State moved up in each of the six major polls, jumping into the top five according to Collegiate Baseball Newspaper, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, Perfect Game and the USA Today Coaches Poll. D1Baseball has the Diamond Dawgs at No. 6, while Baseball America has MSU at No. 7.

Dudy Noble Field Policies
Gates open two hours before first pitch on game day and the stadium gates will close one hour after the conclusion of each game. The right field terrace is a public, grill-free, first come first served area. Should fans wish to purchase ice at Dudy Noble, they will be able to do so behind the center field wall in the Left Field Lounge.

Approved coolers cannot exceed the maximum size of 10" by 10" by 10" after gates open, with coolers exceeding the restriction size prohibited. Other prohibited items include alcoholic beverages, smoking (in all areas), weapons, fireworks, electric power generators, pets, non-approved banners and signs, bicycles, any illegal substances, carts, wagons, wheeled supply carriers, personal tailgate tents (on concourse or lawn areas) and lawn chairs on sidewalks or concourse areas.

All bags are subject to search and security screening, along with items prohibited from being stored along stadium fencing and gates. MSU encourages fans to leave all unnecessary and prohibited items at home or in their vehicles to expedite security and screening procedures.

Series Notes
- Mississippi State and Grambling will meet for just the second time in program history on Wednesday, with the Bulldogs owning a 1-0 record in the series.
- The only meeting in the series came in 2013, a 2-0 win for MSU on Feb. 19 in Starkville.
- Against the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC), the Diamond Dawgs own an all-time mark of 102-9 versus the current alignment of the conference.
- MSU's most common SWAC opponents are Alcorn State (16 meetings), Jackson State (60 meetings) and Mississippi Valley State (26 meetings).
- State has already defeated Jackson State, 17-4, on Feb. 26 and Arkansas-Pine Bluff, 14-1, on March 6. Mississippi Valley State and Texas Southern are still on the schedule for 2019.
