FLORANCE, Alabama – Mississippi State men's golf will travel four individuals to the Turtle Point Yacht and Country Club Monday and Tuesday to compete in the 2019 TVA Community Credit Union Invitational.
Junior Griffin Agent, sophomore Austin Vukovits along with freshmen Hunter Logan and William Wann will represent the Bulldogs on the par 72, 7,133 yard course.
"I am excited for these guys, and the opportunity that lies ahead of them," men's golf head coach Dusty Smith said. "It always means a lot when you get the chance to carry the State bag and wear the M-State logo on your chest in a tournament. We are looking forward to watching them compete this week."
Agent played in four tournaments during his sophomore campaign, which included the 2018 TVA Community Credit Union Invitational. He carded 13 birdies and earned a share of 10th place after he shot 2-over, 218 at the event.
Vukovits made his season debut at the Trinity Forest Invitational after he played in four events last year.
Logan and Wann both started their Bulldog careers at the Carmel Cup earlier this season. Logan finished 20th and played in the Trinity Forest Invitational as well.
The participating teams are from North Alabama, Samford, Southeastern Louisiana, New Orleans, Murray State, Tennessee-Martin, Chicago State and Rollins. There also will be individuals participating from Alabama, Ole Miss, UAB and Chattanooga.
The Bulldogs are slated to play two rounds Monday, weather permitting. The event will begin with an 8 a.m. CT shotgun start. Live results will be available via Golfstat.
Assistant coach Charlie Ewing will travel with the team as Smith prepares the Golf Dawgs for the final team event of the fall slate, the Steelwood Collegiate Invitational, set for October 26-27, in Mobile, Alabama.
