In-State Rivalry Resumes for Women’s Basketball

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State's No. 7/6 women's basketball team will host Ole Miss on Sunday afternoon. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. CT on SEC Network with Roy Philpott and Brooke Weisbrod on the call.

The Bulldogs continue to lead the nation in scoring offense (90.9 ppg) and scoring margin (+34.9) after posting their second-largest SEC victory in program history on Thursday at Florida. MSU's 48-point victory matched last year's game in Gainesville and was just two points shy of the program's largest SEC win.
State has won 22 straight regular-season conference games and is looking to extend a 30-game winning streak at home. The Bulldogs' home winning streak is tied with Baylor for the third-longest active streak in the country.
Jazzmun Holmes is coming off a six-assist game without turning the ball over. In her last 13 games, the senior is averaging 5.2 apg and she leads the nation in assist/turnover ratio this year (4.41). Jordan Danberry has scored in double figures in 14 straight games, averaging 14.5 points in that span.
MSU will wrap up January with a trip to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Thursday, Jan. 31. The Bulldogs meet LSU at 6:30 p.m. CT on SEC Network+.

- Seniors Jazzmun Holmes and Teaira McCowan have won 117-career games, tied for the 3rd-most in the nation since 2015-16. Their 89 wins since 2016-17 are tied with UConn for the most in the nation in that span.
- Danberry has already broken her career high in scoring four times this season, and scored more points (254) this year than in any prior season of her career.
- MSU's men's and women's teams are a combined 56-3 in the Hump since the start of the 2017-18 season.
- State has also been one of the nation's best at distributing the basketball, dishing 18.2 assists per game, an average that leads the SEC and is 13th in the nation. State has recorded 20-plus assists in 8 games this year.

- Holmes will look to see her name added to the Nancy Lieberman watchlist as she leads the nation in assist/turnover ratio (4.41), the next player is at 4.00.
- Starkville has become a Sunday destination for women's basketball. Through three Sunday home games, the Bulldogs are averaging 8,797 fans.
- Chloe Bibby will miss the remainder of the season after sustaining a left knee injury in the first minute of the South Carolina game (1/17). Entering the game, she was averaging 12.6 points and led MSU in three-pointers.
