
No. 7/6 Women's Basketball Meets Florida on the Road Thursday

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State's No. 7/6 women's basketball team travels to Florida to meet the Gators on Thursday at 6 p.m. CT on SEC Network+.

The Bulldogs are the final SEC team to be undefeated in conference play after defeating then-No. 15 South Carolina, 89-74, last week. State continues to lead the conference in field goal percentage (50.4 percent), rebounding (46.2 rpg), assist/turnover ratio (1.3), assists (18.1 apg), rebound margin (+17.7) and scoring offense (90.9 ppg).
State will be without Chloe Bibby for the first time this year, after the sophomore forward left the South Carolina game with a season-ending knee injury. She was averaging 12.6 points going into the contest and led the team in minutes.
Teaira McCowan earned her second consecutive SEC Player of the Week award this week and MSU's third in a row. McCowan also earned national recognition as the ESPNW and Naismith Player of the Week.
MSU returns home on Sunday, Jan. 27 to host in-state rival Ole Miss at 2 p.m. The game will air on SEC Network.

- The Bulldogs have won 21 straight SEC games, dating back to last season. MSU's last loss in regular-season conference play came on Feb. 26, 2017 to Tennessee.
- State has been in the AP poll 86 straight weeks, including 50 weeks in a row in the Top 10.
- The Bulldogs are the nation's top scoring offense, averaging 90.9 ppg. Its 56.7 ppg allowed is 27th in the country, giving the Dawgs the highest scoring margin (+34.2) in Division I.
- MSU tops the SEC in FG% (50.4%), rebounding (46.2 rpg), assist/turnover ratio (1.3), assists (18.1 apg), rebound margin (+17.7), and scoring offense.
- Jordan Danberry has scored in double figures in 13 straight games, averaging 14.7 points in that span. She has already broken career high in scoring four times this season, and scored more points (242) this year than in any prior season of her career.
- Teaira McCowan is the only player in the SEC to be among the top 10 in the league in both scoring and rebounding average.
- With a dozen rebounds at Texas, McCowan passed LaToya Thomas (2000-03) for sole possession of the MSU career rebounds record with 1,109. She has now collected 1,265 for her career.

- MSU's offense has scored 100 points in 6 games this year including four straight (11/15-11/24). Six 100-point efforts in a single-season broke the school record of 5 set by last year's squad. The SEC record is 10 games set by Alabama in 1991-92.
- State has also been one of the nation's best at distributing the basketball, dishing 18.1 assists per game, an average that leads the SEC and is 16th in the nation.
LAST TIME OUT FOR MSU...
- Teaira McCowan recorded her 54th career double-double with 26 points and 24 rebounds to lead MSU past then-No. 15 South Carolina.
- McCowan's 24 rebounds matched South Carolina's total, and she split them evenly with a dozen on both the offensive and defensive glass.
- State grabbed the rebound on 64 percent of its missed field goal attempts and outscored the Gamecocks 23-6 in second-chance points.
- MSU lost Chloe Bibby to a season-ending injury in the first minute of the game.
