STARKVILLE – Hunter Renfroe's peak performance in his active 11-game hit streak came on Saturday when he crushed two solo home runs, accounting for San Diego's only offense that night.
Â
Over the streak, which began August 23, Renfroe is batting .348 with five home runs, 11 RBIs and a 1.058 OPS. He is hitting .259 with 21 doubles, 19 homers and 56 RBIs for the Padres this season.
Â
Adam Frazier has been just as hot but over a longer span, and he doesn't seem to be slowing down. Since his July 25 recall to the majors, Frazier has hit .352 with 13 doubles, five home runs and 20 RBIs in 33 games, mostly from the leadoff spot. On Monday, Frazier went 4-for-4 with a double, homer and three RBIs vs. Cincinnati.

San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Chris Stratton has posted three consecutive quality starts while allowing just four runs (1.77 ERA). His most recent start came against the Mets on Sunday, as he tossed 6.0 innings while allowing just two runs on three hits.

On Thursday, Dakota Hudson was named the Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Year after he dominated in Triple-A with a 13-3 mark and 2.50 ERA with the Memphis Redbirds. Hudson was called up to the majors by the St. Louis Cardinals on July 28 and has a 4-1 record and 2.55 ERA since.

Milwaukee recalled Brandon Woodruff back to its MLB roster on Saturday, and the reliever immediately made an impact, pitching 4.0 innings and allowing no runs while striking out five to earn the win on the road against Washington.

Several former Diamond Dawgs in minor league baseball have closed their seasons out well with postseason play ahead.

Zac Houston has continued his to pitch through Triple-A lineups. In 20 games since July 6, he's allowed just one earned run while fanning 31 batters for the Toledo Mud Hens (Detroit Tigers affiliate).

In his last three starts for the Double-A Midland RockHounds (Oakland Athletics affiliate), Ben Bracewell has collected 26 strikeouts over 22.0 innings pitched and allowed just four runs (1.63 ERA). In his last 10 games, Bracewell has posted a 2.09 ERA.

Ryan Gridley completed the regular season with the Single-A Beloit Snappers batting .400 over his last 10 games, while recording hits in each of his last four games.

Between two Single-A squads in the Houston Astros system, J.P. France has allowed just one run since his professional debut to post a minor league ERA of 0.50. Since his call-up to the Single-A Cedar Rapids Kernels (Minnesota Twins affiliate), Zach Neff has pitched twice and earned his first win with the team while allowing no runs.

Contributing to his .357 average over his last 10 games for the Grand Junction Rockies (Colorado Rockies affiliate), Hunter Stovall collected six hits, six RBIs and a home run.
