Foshey Notches Consolation Win, Bulldog Trio Opens Qualifying Monday

TULSA, Okla.– Trevor Foshey got back to his winning ways that helped him earn 2018 Southeastern Conference Tournament MVP honors on Sunday at the 2018 ITA All-American Championships.
The St. Cloud, Florida, product moved back into the win column with a 6-2, 6-4 triumph against Fresno State's Jeremy Moser in the lone round of prequalifying consolation action.
Foshey's singles play in Tulsa may be in the books, but the senior now turns his attention to the doubles court, where he will team up with 2018 partner Florian Broska in the doubles qualifying draw that begins Monday. The duo will take on fellow SEC counterparts Noah Schacter and Barnaby Smith of Texas A&M, with match time set for 3 p.m. CT at the Union 9th Grade Center. Broska and Foshey finished the 2017-18 season with a 14-6 overall record.
The sophomore Broska will also take the court in singles qualifying, taking on TCU's Sander Jong in the first of three rounds at 9 a.m. at the University of Tulsa's Case Tennis Center. Broska notched 20 wins in his first season on campus on his way to earning SEC All-Freshman Team honors.
Joining Broska in the qualifying phase is State's two-time All-SEC, 109th-ranked senior Niclas Braun, who will square off against a familiar foe in Texas A&M's 84th-ranked Juan Carlos Aguilar, whom he faced in the 2018 SEC Tournament Championship match in April. Braun and Aguilar will take the court at 8 a.m. at Union.
The first round of singles will transpire Monday, with the second and third rounds being played Tuesday before an off day on Wednesday prior to the singles and doubles main draw starting Thursday. The first two rounds of doubles qualifying will be played Monday.
