"We are really excited to kick off the SEC schedule, and I am very excited to head to Columbia this weekend," head coach Julie Darty said "Our preseason schedule was a really competitive slate, and we certainly played well at times. We just have to replicate those good moments into longer, sustainable stretches as we head into the toughest part of our schedule. A lot of growing up has happened with this team. We have certainly learned a lot about ourselves, and I hope that we can work through those growing pains we had early on and find a sustainable level of play that we can maintain. We have to be ourselves and be  comfortable with who that is. I know that our mindset is good, and we are in a good place to move forward and really get after it as we kick off SEC play."
Â
The Bulldogs face off against the Gamecocks for the 47th time. Mississippi State defeated South Carolina to close out the 2017 season in Columbia. South Carolina holds a 33-13 advantage, including an 18-4 mark in Columbia.
