GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Mississippi State's first day at the Pepsi Florida Relays was highlighted by three Top 10 finishes in the open 400m hurdles.
Running alongside professionals, Charles Brockman placed eighth and was the top collegiate finisher with a personal-best time of 51.26. That time is the seventh-best in the NCAA entering the weekend.
Rasheed Tatham finished second among collegiate athletes, and Vince Castillo took sixth in the event. On the women's side, Monica Mosley was the third collegiate finisher, running a 59.82.
"We started the day well with our sprints and hurdles," head coach Steve Dudley said. "I was happy with the consistency we've seen from our javelin men and the sprint groups, but we have room to be faster. And we'll need to be faster to do what we want to at SECs and the postseason."

Juston Waters placed fifth and was closely followed by Karson Kowalchuk who set a new personal best, running a wind-aided 21.16 to finish 11th.
