Mississippi State head men's golf coach Dusty Smith:
Â
"We talked last night about having a total team effort for today's round. Five guys battling and clawing for every single shot today. I thought we got off to a pretty good start but we weren't able to sustain it through the round. This is a resilient group of guys and I know we will bounce back. We have to continue to trust our process. We will get back to work this week as we have a quick turnaround for our next event. The goal is, and will always be, to get a little bit better each and every single day. The entire season is made up of stepping stones. This was our next step in our process. We will learn from it and move on. It's a long journey and we look forward to our next opportunity."
