
Women's Basketball Closes Non-Conference Play on Sunday

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State's No. 8/7 women's basketball team is back in action on Sunday after 10 days off the court when the Bulldogs host Louisiana at 2 p.m. CT.
Tickets are available for $1 online in advance at HailState.com/tickets. Online sales will conclude at 12 p.m. on Sunday.
The game will air on SEC Network+ with Charlie Winfield and Brock Turnipseed on the call. Fans can listen to the action on the MSU Radio Network and online via HailState.com/Plus and the TuneIn app.
Vic Schaefer's squad is second in the nation in scoring offense, averaging 91.7 ppg. The Bulldogs have already tied last year's school record with five 100-point games this year after breaking the Alaska Airlines Arena record for points by a visiting team with 103 in their last game.
State's defense is third in the SEC, allowing just 53.4 ppg, and the Dawgs boast the top scoring margin (+38.3) in the country. MSU also tops the conference in field goal percentage (57.1 percent), rebounding (44.83 rpg), blocked shots (6.8 bpg), assists (19.0 apg) and assist/turnover ratio (1.5).
Individually, Teaira McCowan and Anriel Howard are the only pair of teammates in the SEC to be among the top 10 in the conference in both scoring and rebounding. Jazzmun Holmes continues to lead the country in assist/turnover ratio at 5.42. Holmes has posted 31 assists with just six turnovers over the last five games and is averaging 11.6 ppg in that span while going 21-of-22 from the free throw line.
The Bulldogs have won 19-straight regular-season non-conference games in Humphrey Coliseum. State's 26-game overall home winning streak is tied for the third-longest active streak in the country.
