STARKVILLE – Fresh off a perfect four-game homestand, the sixth-ranked Mississippi State women's basketball team hits the road Wednesday to wrap the opening month of the season against Little Rock.

Tip from the Jack Stephens Center is set for 6:30 p.m., with a subscription-based live stream available on the Trojans' website, LRTrojans.com.

The 6-0 Bulldogs, who remained No. 6 in this week's USA Today Coaches Poll, enter the week ranked in the Top 15 in NCAA Division I in 17 statistical categories, including second in scoring offense (97.5 ppg), fourth in field goal percentage (52.6 percent), fourth in scoring defense (44.5 ppg), third in field goal percentage defense (27.7 percent) and third in rebounding (50.0 rpg).

State also tops the country in blocked shots with 9.8 per game. Individually, Teaira McCowan entered the week leading the nation with 4.0 bpg, while freshman Jessika Carter followed in fifth with 3.2 bpg.

McCowan tops MSU with an 18.8 scoring average, and she has made shots at a 75.4 percent clip that ranked second in the country heading into the week.

The Brenham, Texas, native enters Wednesday having scored double figures in 12-straight games going back to her All-America junior season, and in her last three games has scored at a 22.0 per-game clip behind 29-of-32 shooting (90.6 percent).

A pair of Arkansas natives return home coming off career outings in last Saturday's win against Jackson State. Conway native Jordan Danberry scored a career-high 16 points in the contest, while Little Rock product Bre'Amber Scott claimed double figures for the second time in three games with a personal-best 14 points.

Seniors Jazzmun Holmes and Teaira McCowan have won 105-career games, 4th-most in the nation since 2015-16. Their 77 wins since 2016-17 are tied for the most in the nation.
State stayed No. 6 in this week's AP poll. It has been in the poll 78 straight weeks, including 42 weeks in a row in the Top 10.
MSU has scored 100+ points in four straight games for the first time in program history. MSU is averaging 97.5 ppg, the 2nd-highest average in the nation, and its 44.5 ppg allowed is 4th in DI.
State is 4th in the country in FG% (52.6%) and 3rd in FG% defense (27.7%).

LAST TIME OUT FOR MSU...

The Bulldogs capped a four-game homestand with a 105-38 win against Jackson State. MSU eclipsed the century mark in all four games.
Teaira McCowan led five MSU players in double figures with 19 points. Jordan Danberry scored a career-best 16 points.
A pair of 10-0 runs in the first quarter, and a 12-0 second quarter run helped MSU lead 61-22 at halftime.

Little Rock sits at 2-3 on the season and has lost three straight games after falling at LSU on Sunday and at home to Texas A&M on Nov. 20.
The Trojans average 56.0 ppg and allow 59.2 ppg. Sun Belt Preseason Player of the Year Ronjanae DeGray leads LR with 12.6 ppg. Her sister, Raeyana, tops the Trojans on the board with 5.4 rpg.

BULLDOGS SEEK TO CONTINUE ROAD SUCCESS

Mississippi State hits the road for the second time this season as it heads to Little Rock.
The Bulldogs have won 9-straight non-conference road games, with the last setback coming at Texas on Dec. 2, 2015. The Bulldogs return to Austin Sunday for the SEC/Big 12 Challenge, exactly 3 years to the date of the last trip to Austin.

STATE STELLAR IN NON-CONFERENCE PLAY

That setback at Texas was also MSU's last non-conference loss in the months of November and December, a stretch of 42 straight wins.
Including the postseason, MSU has won 40 games in a row against non-conference competition inside The Hump. The Bulldogs' last home loss to a non-SEC foe came against South Florida in the WNIT quarterfinals on March 30, 2014.
