
6th-Ranked MSU Wraps Opening Month Of Season Wednesday At Little Rock

STARKVILLE – Fresh off a perfect four-game homestand, the sixth-ranked Mississippi State women's basketball team hits the road Wednesday to wrap the opening month of the season against Little Rock.
Tip from the Jack Stephens Center is set for 6:30 p.m., with a subscription-based live stream available on the Trojans' website, LRTrojans.com.

The 6-0 Bulldogs, who remained No. 6 in this week's USA Today Coaches Poll, enter the week ranked in the Top 15 in NCAA Division I in 17 statistical categories, including second in scoring offense (97.5 ppg), fourth in field goal percentage (52.6 percent), fourth in scoring defense (44.5 ppg), third in field goal percentage defense (27.7 percent) and third in rebounding (50.0 rpg).
State also tops the country in blocked shots with 9.8 per game. Individually, Teaira McCowan entered the week leading the nation with 4.0 bpg, while freshman Jessika Carter followed in fifth with 3.2 bpg.
McCowan tops MSU with an 18.8 scoring average, and she has made shots at a 75.4 percent clip that ranked second in the country heading into the week.
The Brenham, Texas, native enters Wednesday having scored double figures in 12-straight games going back to her All-America junior season, and in her last three games has scored at a 22.0 per-game clip behind 29-of-32 shooting (90.6 percent).
A pair of Arkansas natives return home coming off career outings in last Saturday's win against Jackson State. Conway native Jordan Danberry scored a career-high 16 points in the contest, while Little Rock product Bre'Amber Scott claimed double figures for the second time in three games with a personal-best 14 points.
