
An A=Free Admission Thursday When No. 6 MSU Hosts Lamar

STARKVILLE – An "A" gets free admission to watch the No. 6 Mississippi State women's basketball team as it hosts Lamar Thursday night at Humphrey Coliseum.The contest tips at 7 p.m. and is "Report Card Night," with children age 12 and under getting free admission when they show a report card with an A.
Fans can purchase tickets online at HailState.com/Ticketsup to four hours before tip at the price of $5 for adults and $3 for youth age 17 and under. Walk-up general admission tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for youth.
MSU students get in free with a valid student ID, and Bully's Kids Club members also get free admission with their membership card.
Fans unable to attend can stream the game at WatchESPN.com or the WatchESPN app.

Humphrey Coliseum doors open at 5:30 p.m., and families can enjoy games and inflatables at Bully's Kidz Kourt inside Mize Pavilion.
Vic Schaefer's Bulldogs return home 2-0 on the season after notching an impressive 72-44 road victory at Virginia last Friday.
SEC Player of the Week Teaira McCowan leads the Bulldogs, averaging 18.0 points, 14.5 rebounds and a nation's-best 5.5 blocks per game. She followed a 24-point, 17-rebound, seven-block effort in the season opener against Southeast Missouri with 12 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks at Virginia.
Sophomore Chloe Bibby joins her in double figures, averaging 12.0 ppg through two games. Bibby and Andra Espinoza-Hunter led MSU at UVA with 13 points each.
Lamar brings a 3-0 record to Starkville. Moe Kinard tops the Cardinals averaging 21.3 ppg.

BULLDOG BITES
- Mississippi State returns home to host Lamar on Thursday in the first game of a four-game homestand. It will be the second meeting between the teams, with the first being an MSU win in 1981.
- MSU won its ninth-straight road game with a 72-44 victory at Virginia last Friday.
- State has won 38-straight regular-season non-conference contests, and it has claimed 21-consecutive wins in the Hump, tied for the fifth-longest active streak in the nation. Lamar is second with 29 home wins in a row.
- Since 2014-15, MSU is 128-22. Those 128 wins are fourth-most nationally in that span. The Bulldogs' 73 wins since 2016-17 are tied with UConn for the most in the nation.
- Teaira McCowan and Anriel Howard added another player of the year watch list on Monday as both were selected to the Naismith Trophy list.
- McCowan, the Preseason SEC Player of the Year by both league media and coaches, was named the SEC Player of the Week after averaging 18.0 ppg, 14.5 rpg and 5.5 bpg in the season's opening two games.
- With 11 blocks through two games, McCowan leads the nation with 5.5 blocks per game. As a team, MSU also tops the country in swats with 19.
- Chloe Bibby scored double figures for the second-straight game with 13 at Virginia. She also scored 13 vs. UVA last season. In two games against the Cavaliers, she has averaged 6.5 ppg and shot 50% from the field (10-of-20) and 3-point range (5-of-10).
- Two days after being ruled eligible for the season, sophomore Andra Espinoza-Hunter matched the team high with 13 points, going 5-of-12 from the floor and 3-of-8 from the arc.
- The Bulldogs are second in the SEC, 25th nationally, with 21.0 offensive rebounds per game.

- State improved to 2-0 as it opened the road slate with an impressive 72-44 win at Virginia.
- Chloe Bibby and Andra Espinoza-Hunter, playing in her first game as a Bulldog, led the way with 13 points each. Teaira McCowan added 12 points,12 rebounds and 4 of MSU's 8 blocks in the game.
- State scored the first 11 points of the game to lead 26-13 after the opening 10 minutes. A 16-0 run in the second quarter led the Bulldogs to a 45-17 halftime edge.

- State's win against Southeast Missouri in the season opener was the Dawgs' 21st-straight win inside Humphrey Coliseum. That run is the tied for the fifth-longest active home win streak in NCAA Division I.

- The Bulldogs have been stellar in regular-season non-conference games, winning 38-straight contests. The last time MSU dropped a non-conference game in the months of November and December was at Texas on Dec. 2, 2015.
