Agent Takes Top Ten Finish At TVA Community Credit Union Invite

KILLEN, Ala. – Five consecutive birdies on holes 13-17 set the tone for the day for Griffin Agent, who claimed a career-best finish at the TVA Community Credit Union Invitational.
The sophomore jumped six spots up the leaderboard in the final round of play Tuesday at the par-72, 7,133-yard Turtle Point Yacht and Country Club to finish tied for 10th, his first top 10 finish in five career events between two seasons.
Agent earned a three-round total 2-over 218, and his even 72 Tuesday bested a pair of 73s achieved in each of the first two rounds, which took place Monday.
Sophomore Ben Nelson was the next-best finisher in Maroon and White. He also shot a 72 in the final round and closed the tournament with a 5-over 221.
Hunter Hammett and Austin Fulton, also sophomores, shot 8-over (27th) and 9-over par (tied for 28th), respectively.
Morgan Egloff of Rollins College won the event after shooting a 9-under 208 over the two days.
The Mississippi State men's golf team now turns its full focus to finishing the fall at the Steelwood Collegiate Invitational in Loxley, Alabama. The two-day event will take place October 27-28 at Steelwood Country Club.
