STARKVILLE– Four Bulldogs will get a chance to test their abilities while playing as individuals Monday and Tuesday at the TVA Community Credit Union Invitational.
Â
Redshirt freshman Ben Nelson will make his MSU debut, while playing alongside sophomores Griffin Agent, Hunter Hammett and Austin Fulton.
Â
"I am excited for these guys, and the opportunity that lies ahead of them," MSU men's golf coach Dusty Smith said. "It always means a lot when you get the chance to carry the State bag and wear the M-State logo on your chest in a tournament. We are looking forward to watching them compete this week."
Â
The four will compete against a 62-player field at the par-72, 7,133-yard Turtle Point Yacht and Country Club in Killen, Alabama. The tournament will begin Monday with 36 holes before concluding Tuesday with a final round.
Â
The event will begin with an 8 a.m. CT shotgun start, with MSU players beginning from holes 13-16. Live results will be available via Golfstat.
Â
Hammett played in State's first two team tournaments of the fall at the Carmel Cup and the Louisville Cardinals Challenge. Fulton played at Carmel Cup on Pebble Beach, as well, while Agent played as an individual at the Louisville Challenge.
Â
Assistant coach Charlie Ewing will travel with the team as MSU men's golf coach Dusty Smith prepares for the final team event of the fall slate, the Steelwood Collegiate Invitational, set for October 27-28, in Loxley, Alabama.
