MSU Travels To Houston For Flo Hyman Collegiate Cup
September 07, 2017 | Volleyball
HOUSTON – Amid the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, Mississippi State (5-3) got the "green light" to travel to Houston for its second road trip of the season.
Â
The Bulldogs will take the court twice on Friday against McNeese State (3-4) at 10 a.m. and Stetson (0-6) at 5 p.m. On Saturday, State will take on host Houston (1-2) at 12:30 p.m. MSU will then travel to Rice to take on Louisiana (4-3) at 7:30 p.m.
Â
"We are looking forward to another tournament this weekend," third-year coach David McFatrich said. "We have four more games to play. Two games on Friday and two on Saturday. I know that sounds like a lot of matches, but I wanted to schedule a lot of games so my young team could get as much competition as possible early in the season. We finished the last two days of practice really strong, and I look forward to seeing that carry on into the weekend."

It has been 33 years since Houston and MSU last played one another. Houston won the only other matchup, 3-0.
