STARKVILLE, Miss. - Mississippi State (9-9, 0-3 SEC) welcomes No. 10 Kentucky (11-2, 2-0 SEC) to Newell-Grissom looking for its first SEC win of the season.

Freshman Carina Lehto surpassed Roxanne McVey to earn the ninth spot in most assists as a freshman. Lehto has 146 assists so far this season and is 48 away from eighth place.

A deciding factor for the Bulldogs this season is within the first two sets. MSU is 6-0 when winning the first two sets, and is 0-4 when losing the first two. When splitting the two, the Dawgs are 3-5.

Sara Maddox completed her first collegiate game at SMU with a career-high 25 kills. Currently, she has 160 kills and 172.5 points.

After Sunday's match at home versus No. 10 Kentucky, the Dawgs turn their attention to LSU and Texas A&M for the fifth and sixth SEC matchup of the season. The LSU match is on Friday at  6 p.m. in Baton Rouge on the SEC Network +. The Texas A&M match is on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. on SEC Network + from College Station.
